A medical alert button helps only if your parent is wearing it and can press it. Livindi gives them three ways.
Press the wearable call button and Livindi immediately sends a message, then starts calling each caregiver.
Say "Help Me" and Livindi immediately calls and texts each caregiver, with no button to reach.
If they can't press a button or call out, AI is designed to detect a fall and alert the care team.
Medical alert systems come in two kinds. Which one is right depends on who you want to get the call.
| Livindi (family-monitored) | Professionally monitored service | |
|---|---|---|
| Who gets the call | Each caregiver on your care team, by call and text | A trained operator, who can contact family or send help |
| 24/7 dispatch center | No | Yes |
| Ways to ask for help | Wearable button, "Help Me" by voice, AI designed to detect a fall | Usually a button. Fall detection is often extra |
| Tells you about their day | Yes. Sensors alert you to changes in activity, eating and bathroom patterns | Usually no |
| Video calling | Yes, one tap with captions and an auto-answer option | Usually no |

Livindi alerts go directly to your family, not to a call center. It doesn't dispatch emergency personnel and isn't a replacement for 911. If you want trained operators around the clock, a professionally monitored service does that, and you can use one alongside Livindi.
Most of what worries you isn't an emergency. You want to know if Mom is eating, if Dad slept, and if something seems off before it becomes a crisis call. A button can't tell you that.
Livindi's door and motion sensors learn your parent's routine, and the free Livindi Helper app alerts you to changes in activity, changes in eating or bathroom patterns, the home being too hot or too cold, or no one calling recently to check in. One tap starts a video call so you can see for yourself.
"...the Livindi tablet literally saved our dad's life: with the auto answer we were able to find out/assess he was suffering a life threatening emergency and we called 911 on the spot."
Studio, Home and Max include the wearable call button. It's rechargeable and comes with a lanyard.
